Thanks to Arts Westchester who has provided us with funds from a FolkArts grant, we have launched our Latin music program here in Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow.  We’ve had a great turnout of folks of all ages, and we’ve already put together a Colombian cumbia and an  Afro-Cuban charanga ensemble with local elementary through high school kids, and even some of their parents who’ve come with their instruments!  It’s been a blast.  We can’t wait to share what they’ve learned at the community arts event at the Sleepy Hollow Middle School on June 6th, where Colombian artist Pedro Ospina  will be displaying the sculpture projects he’s been working on with the kids at the middle school.  We are thrilled to be bringing Latino culture into our towns, which boasts a rich Latino heritage….
